HOW TO Recover Deleted Email

The diagram below explains the email delete and purge workflow:



Step 1:  To recover a deleted email item that no longer appears in the Deleted Items folder, AND if it was deleted within the last 60 days, please reference this Microsoft support article on how to use the Recover Deleted Items from Server option in Outlook:   Microsoft Office Support - Recover Deleted Items in Outlook

 

Step 2:  To recover a deleted email item that is no longer in the email system, the GRHC Email Archiver can be accessed here:   https://grhcmailarchive.grhc.local

Use your Active Directory username and password (the credentials you use to login to your PC) to access the Email Archiver.

Step 3:  If the email is not found in the Email Archiver, please submit a service request to restore from backup.  Please provide as much information as possible about the missing messages, including:

  • Date & time range the email was received
  • Date & time range the email was deleted
  • Message sender
  • Message subject
  • Any relevant message content for search terms
