SolarWinds Alert Suppression / Setting Nodes to Maintenance Mode (Unmanage Node)

There are 2 methods to suppressing Alerts within SolarWinds. Both Involve placing the node into maintenance mode.

The methods are from within the node and in masse from the "Manage Nodes" menu.

Method 1 : Within the node:

Click on the Magnifying Glass and Input the server name you wish to place in maintenance.

Select the Server you are looking to place in maintenance - Whenever possible select the Server that displays it's OS

From the Dashboard of the Node (Server) select the Item "Maintenance Mode" by clicking the down arrow next to it.

Select "Unmanage Now".  A status Bar will fill then the page will reload and you should see something similar to this.

Notice the Node Status states "Node is Unmanaged". This will stop alerts from generating during the maintenance period.

Once Complete, return to the same menu and select "Manage Again" from the Maintenance Mode Dropdown.

Another Status Bar will fill, the page will refresh. You may notice the Node is in an unknown status after remanaging the node.

This should be temporary and return to green after a minuet or 2. You can refresh the page to check the status again.

Once complete with maintenance, ensure the page of each node you unmanaged returns to a green status and the node status reflects that it is up.

Method 2 : Mass Changed to Multiple Servers through "Manage Nodes"

On the Top Bar, Highlight Settings then Select Manage Nodes

That will bring you to this page, where all of the GRHC nodes managed by SolarWinds are listed.

Here you can search for nodes, group node by type, and select 1 or multiple nodes. (TIP : Multiple Nodes with similar names [such as NG] can be listed together with a search)

After Selecting the nodes you are working on you can place them in all in maintenance mode by selecting unmanage all nodes from the maintenance mode drop down menu.

Upon selecting "Unmanage Now" a status bar will fill then you will see the the node names have a blue X next to them representing that they are currently in a non-managed state.

Once maintenance work is done, select the nodes that were unmanaged during maintenance and select "Manage Again"

Again a status bar will fill, the page will refresh and you should see the Blue X's turn green to represent that the nodes are once again managed. (This may take a minute or 2 and/or a couple page refreshes to reflect as fully up and managed, this is normal).

Once everything is completely back up and managed you should see this:
